S U M M A R Y
Born with an extremely rare condition for her breed, Dahlia is what's known among Aberrations as "isolated" — with only one head, she has no twin to call her own, something that leaves her with a certain undercurrent of loneliness due to her natural predisposition to constant socialization and a feeling her never-born sister is always just out of reach. This was only made worse by the rejection and bullying she faced for this condition when she was young, and in the absence of a twin sister or a good group of friends she poured herself into her greatest passion: sculpture. For a while ice was Dahlia's favored medium due to its great abundance in her homeland of the Southern Icefield, but she soon found herself branching out to other materials such as wood and stone and slowly grew proficient in a number of techniques. As she reached adulthood her works were praised for their lifelike appearance, and she enjoyed sculpting portraits of others in commissions — particularly of other Aberrations, for a hidden hope of hers was to someday capture the likeness of the sister she'd always wished to have. With no particular connection to home due to her unfortunate social life, Dahlia decided to set out across Sornieth to explore the world and the art techniques brought forward by many different cultures, dragon and beastclan alike. Eventually Dahlia arrived in the Sunbeam Ruins with hopes to learn the famed marble techniques of Light Flight sculptors, where she found a community in Clan Valor — and the Harpy clans residing near Lanternlea Port, who don't hold the same prejudice towards her condition that many dragons do and scarcely bat an eye at her appearance — and continues to learn and create.

ADDENDUM: ON DARREN
This starry-eyed painter parted from his home branch of the Flock to seek out Winona, a love who had disappeared under strange circumstances. Though most of his early travels led to nothing, a chance encounter in a marketplace would have Darren overhear an odd-looking dragon tell of an injured harpy warrior who'd been found on the shores of her home. Darren felt by instinct this was her, and after convincing Delilah to allow him to come with her the pair quickly struck up a friendship and interest in each other's craft. His hunch proved right and Darren and Winona had a happy reunion, but he quickly learned Winona wished to stay in the Ruins with the harpy clans she'd met during her recovery. This concept would have seemed terrifying to once-meek Darren at the beginning of his journey, but he'd found he'd come into his own over the course of his travels and didn't fear the concept of experiencing new, unknown environments like he once had as a fledgling. While Darren does worry Winona is being too hard on herself, there's no one he'd rather be with. |
