amaretto could have been anything in the world. from a clan of wandering shadehunters, the child of one of sorineth's last fleshcrafters, and a father with a heart of gold, anything could have been laid out before him. but he did not pick up the runeblade, nor the needle, nor bear the burdens of any other. of course not. he might chip a nail. ah, the dragonhome where his egg did hatch was not without mirrors. he grew knowing his beauty, seeing it reflected in the eyes of other dragons. there were very few places his looks couldn't weasel his way in to, including the hearts of the wealthy silk kings of the earthlands. the order moved on, and he did not. he lived a life of spoils. only the finest fabric was good enough for amaretto, only the most delicately cut gems. he had an eye for quality it seemed. he turned his nose up at glass rubies and sapphires almost without looking at them. curled his lip in disgust at poorly woven fabric. it became a routine. the merchant kings, they would bring him their good before they bought them, for amaretto could spot a fake a mile away. he bit down on gold and held diamonds up to the light and was not couth about slandering the poor drake that dared try to sell a counterfit. and, well, there is only so much verbal lashing you can dole out before the whip hits someone it shouldn't.
