Living full time in the Pox Consulate fills Arema with dread. She was the only member of her former Plague clan with political training, and somedragon needed to live full-time in the Gladekeeper's domain to ensure fair trade and peaceful relations between clans living so close to each border.

Arema must consciously conceal her displeasure of the lush, flowery surroundings. The Ridgeback takes her job as ambassador even more seriously than her personal discomforts. Growing up along the Rotrock Rim with the constant threat of new contagions has a way of thickening a dragon's skin, literally.
