Biography

Secret Santa 2022 Gift Art! A beautiful corrupted fishy!

Oh! A light egg! A very shiny light egg. Don't lose it in your treasure hoard!

The egg is shinier, and has developed a swirl pattern. An ethereal humming can be heard from within.

What.

It appears this light egg was actually a Shimmy Shimmer Mimic! They like to throw parties when dragons are trying to study, making them great friends for both hatchlings and the literature-averse.

Eggpocalypse 2022 Lore snippets done by Argante!

A recent addition to the clan, Rakira had designated herself to be the Den Mother, watching the hatchlings and eggs while the other parents are out on business or hunting. It was the Den Mother who, on an excursion to find some toys for the younglings, came across Omen's egg from the Plaguelands out on the Plateau. She brought it back even knowing the potential risk it could pose to herself, but was unwilling to let the little life within die alone without ever having known the light of the sun, or the love of a mother.

Making a little den just for herself and the egg away from the others of the clan, she nested. As the days went on, Nakira noticed the lesions start to grow, first taking her fine scales, then the flesh underneath. Though the wounds looked horrendous, they strangely caused her no pain. Perhaps it was due to her sacrifice, the Magics and Powers of the world saw fit to rid her of their pain in return for her compassion to the little abandoned egg.

The days counted down, and out came Omen.

In the first days, Nakira tested his aura vigorously for any sign of contagion, bringing all manner of plants and animals into the temporary den, which absolutely delighted the little hatchling.

There was no sign of malice from the little one.

Upon returning to the clan's main den, Nakira was looked upon with horror by some and scorn from others, both for her new affected appearance and for her actions; neither of which she minded so long as Omen was treated with kindness. She even took the insult of "Rot Mother" in stride, claiming the title with pride even though she gave up the position of Den Mother so as not to scare the hatchlings.

She now spends her days with Omen on the outskirts of the clan, tending to what she can indirectly, and interacting with those who will have her company. Mordread and Nerius, as the clan leaders try to broker trust on a constant basis with the rest of the clan. As time goes on, things are looking hopeful.
