Whisper

You meander through the lair, passing a few empty dens. Or, at least, one was empty; Pacing back, you find yourself face-to-face with a small, whitish dragon staring condescendingly at you. Her pale-brown wings are wrapped tightly around herself, and, on further inspection, seem to be scarred and scabbed at many points, especially around the edges. You try to inquire as to what happened, but you think twice at the Fae's cold glare.

"A curious one," she murmurs, her voice echoing harshly despite its subdued tones. "Either the most dangerous, or the most likely endangered..." A chill parody of a smile floats across the Fae's lips. Her wings begin to twitch and curl unnaturally, and you take a step back. "Look, curious one, I'll tell you this- there are many things beyond dragonkind. Even the Shade itself is not the only entity outside of the Deities' domain, nor is it the only powerful one. Whether or not you believe me is your choice, of course- I'd suggest you not dwell on it. Although I am curious as to your reactions..." The dragoness deepens her smile, her red eyes dark.

"Alright, that's enough. I suppose I shouldn't draw attention to myself. Already tried that once..." She mutters grimly. With a sigh, she briskly shouts two last words to you: "Leave. Now." You happily comply, turning tail and dashing through the halls. Funny, you could've sworn you saw black snakes following you out of the corner of your eye...
