Biography

they/he
old retired warrior, either once a soldier or a forge guard, but they won't confirm any of the idle rumors that float through smokesnort. they spend most of their days out by the signpost (a slab of unsmelted ore with some words about travelers and trade scorched in, though most of the message is eaten away by oxidation) marking smokesnort's presence on the road. they greet travelers and appraise strangers. so far they haven't stopped anyone from entering smokesnort—they're just one dragon, after all—but it's helpful to have a heads-up of what sort of trouble may be entering town
all smokesnort residents know them, and they know everyone—all the rumors, too, though you'll never catch them running their mouth. they know the value of privacy and secrets, and of trust. fairly friendly, always down to have a conversation, though that'll usually result in you saying more than you meant, and them not saying much at all. good luck prying a personal detail out of them (ha)
-
smokesnort is built from an old set of banescale warrens dug long ago. much of the hollowed hills are occupied, with new openings created for windows or entrances as the occupants see fit. others have also built exterior structures on top of the mounds, for added space and access
while solidly on flintlock fumaroles soil, the coast is but an hour's flight to the northeast. much of the town's diet ends up sourced from the sea
