Biography
Sorana // sore-AAN-UH // she/her With both of her parents deep in commitment to the Neon Army, her mother in the Ashfall Waste Command and her father in the Viridian Labyrinth Command, it seemed that her fate was sealed to be only another lackey in the mad Neon Coatl Family's scheme to take over Sornieth. From only a few days old, she had a spark of rebellion - not as loud spark that spoke against her parents or the Army publicly, but as a silent "way of doing things differently then what was taught." As a teen, her mother decided that she would continue to be stationed in the Fire Flight territory, her siblings heading out to different locations for their own destinies - rather Neon Army oriented or not. This went against her wish to be with the green of her father's work. So, under her apprenticeship, she attempted her best to work close to the Water and Wind Flight boundaries. Those little glimpses of life other then ash, rock, lava, and flame made her only more curious to things other then what the Neon Army controlled. When a patrol was needed to travel against the Wind state boarder, she was the first to sign up. Wind Flight dragons had been rebelling against Neon Army stations set up on the line - she was aware of the risks. But she simply wished to see more greenery. She set up camp with her patrol-mates a week later. A rat in the system cut their mission short. And they were ambushed. In the height of the moment, Sorana fled severely hurt, but at least with her life. She couldn't see who else was alive and bee-lined into Wind territory. Somewhere near the Zephyr Steppes, upon the smaller banks of Singer's Brook, she collapsed. She knew that this was the end, yet mildly delighted to be surrounded by nature and a calming breeze. To her absolute shock, or horror, she awoke upon the following dawn, witnessing the final stars disappear into a growing sunrise. She found herself still wounded, but the actual gashes and stabs to be scabbed over, as if healing on their own. She could lift herself up, and so she did, spreading her wings all the while. Dazzling lights glimmered around her, similar to light filtering through tree branches, but there was not enough sunlight for such a thing. She looked upon her wings, and saw they had been transformed into a display of starlight and shifting galaxies. She doesn't understand what force allowed her to live, or what transformed her once plain wings into an art piece of extraterrestrial visage. But, she is grateful for the second chance. She knew that there would be no rescue missions if the patrol fouled up, and began a journey deeper into the Wind territory. She has begun a new life within the Aergate community as a botanist, occasionally researching into the phenomenon of her second chance and wing change. To the Neon Army, she was deceased, until Army spies from the Windswept Plateau Command discovered her alive. She is now known to the Army as a Neon Deserter and Renegade (NDR), and is a target of interest if she ever proves important. Sorana knows none of this. As a Speckle Star Dragon Unbeknownst to her, Sorana is a Speckle Star Dragon, a subspecies of curiously gifted dragons with bodies and wings of the Sornieth's stars themselves. When Sorana neared death, she had slept in a Nebulocation - a place where these celestial transformations are strongest and happen most often. |
