Biography
Hawkstone was trapped under some rubble when he was caught up in a cave-in on the borders of the Ashfall Waste and Shifting Expanse. He'd already given up on being rescued after the first day and could tell that his injuries were quite extensive. His forearm at least was broken, but it was likely that most of his ribs were too. On the second day it was hard to maintain consciousness, but he thought he'd heard a metallic sound as if something were gently hitting the stones nearby.
Hawkstone was surprised to open his eyes again. Wincing from the light of sparks shooting off nearby, he spotted a curious spider-looking creature between the flashes. It appeared to be using a laser to cut stone. Hawk watched as it took the piece of stone it cut and moved closer to him.
"Hi there." He said. The spider was mechanical and looked like it was malfunctioning due to the sparks coming from its abdomen. "What are you up to?" At least he technically wasn't going to be alone in his final moments.
The spider placed the stone on a nearby rocky slab and began using its laser.
Hawkstone flinched at the proximity of the laser and the slab moved. When the spider left to carve off another rock, Hawkstone tried moving his forearm and it didn't hurt. The only problem was it was under the slab the spider was working on. He tried moving it from under the slab before the spider came back, but then realized his arm WAS the slab.
The spider came back and began attaching another rock.
"Are you repairing me?"
The spider gave no indication of understanding him and continued its work.
Hawkstone laughed at his fortune and vowed to take the spider with him if he ever got out of there.
Thank-you Spidergirl!

- Due to how he was 'repaired', Hawkstone has a body that looks rocky.
