the lonely
╭─ about ─────────────────────────────────╮
She was born a squalling, screaming mess. Because even gods go through the human experience of being purged from the womb of their mother. She is left behind, though, and claws her way to something regarding adulthood with blood and tears. Her powers come in fits and starts, a rogue dashed upon the rocks here, and a predator losing their hands there. She thinks nothing of the world around except for ways to make it hers.

And she does. She challenges those godly around her, challenges them for their positions of power, for their powers themselves. She is laughed at and mocked, this little demigod thinking she could become as great as they, gods born of nothing but pure energy itself. Her flesh binds her to the earthly realm, she cannot ascend to a higher plane. She studied ways to kill gods, in dusty, mildewy libraries. She learns all she can, absorbing the power of the written word into her hybrid soul. So when she comes for one of them, a lower ranking god, they never expect it. They never expect her.

She dispatches them with impunity. They never expect her, nameless and powerless, to be able to remove them from their golden thrones, steeped in the blood and tears of mortals. But they find her and they make her pay. They remove her human ageing and her ability to disembark a mortal existence. They make her look upon the face of their divinity and it drives her mad. Little Hadassah, they croon to her as they leave her in the forest, face muddied and tear swollen, such bitterness.
