Adventurer of Horefrost
Adventurous | Daring | Solitary | Flexible | Curious
Eviet fumbled over a mess of scrolls, hurriedly setting them back into their rightful places. "I do apologize." She muttered, "I am still getting my study back in order since the last of my nest went to their new clans." The confidant, tiny Pearlcatcher smiled, walking into the study. "It's no problem." She was small, concidering the size of a normal female of her species, but maintained an air that convinced you that she had no knowledge of her size. An Ember Mouse clung to her head fur, scuffling and twitching with interest. Eviet nodded, sitting down and motioning for her guest to do the same as she picked up her quill.
"So, Miss Matrikas Mitheias," Eviet started, looking up over the rim of her glasses, "You have been here, what, two days?" Matrikas nodded, "Almost three." The Skydancer nodded, making a note. "How about you start from the beginning." Setting down her pearl, the youngster nodded. "Well, I guess I can start with my parents... They are proud, beautiful members of the Light flight. But despite all their beauty they seemed to have a difficult time producing offspring who shared their golden looks and love for the divine. Only my elder brother, Ra, met their standards. I was just as disappointing as the rest of my other siblings as far as they were concerned but I managed to escape exultation by running away. I was young, only a few days old, but I ran."
Eviet did not interrupt but she looked up from her scroll, obviously intrigued. Matrikas did not pause, "I flew across the Shifting Expanse hunting toads in the Canyon for a while before following the shore to the Ashfall Waste where I spent most of my time near the Blacksand Annex. I found Gemlind there not long after arriving," She picked up the mouse and nuzzled her. "After that I continued to follow the shoreline until I was caught up in the Twisting Crescendo of the Windswept Plateau and was forced to make landfall here on the floes, far from my original goal of the Starfall Isles." The Skydancer blinked, "The Isles? Why there?" Matrikas laughed, "Why not? They seem interesting enough."
Blinking the scribe looked back to her papers, "So, do you intend to continue your trek?" The Pearlcatcher smiled. "Of course." Eviet stammered, "You are welcome to stay- I am sure that the Matri-" Matrikas cut her off, "Ma'am, with all do respect, there is a whole world out there for me to see and I intend to see it. My parents wanted me to be cooped up serving a higher power I don't even believe in. I just want to experience the world I have been given."
"I understand." The Skydancer lied as her guest stood, bowed, and began to leave. "You are always welcome to return." She called and Matrikas stopped, looking over her shoulder as she grinned, "I will."
