The Onassis are a wealthy and old family in Ieri Poli. They have supplied it and it's surrounding regions with an absolute necessity without pause nor pardon. That necessity is, of course, wine. Grapes are important in the Sunbeam Ruins, and wine even more so. It is a libation, a due-course offering to the Heralds, it's mundane and artful and everyone likes it. You may not be surprised then to find out that the Onassis family are very influential in the city and get a say in a great many things, some of them things they should have a say in, and some not. It would be difficult to give up such a position, one of infinite money and high influence. But that is exactly what Alcibiades did. He was unceremoniously kicked out of his family home with little more than a stipend several years ago now. He refused to wheel and deal and engage in any more political machinations, refused to be held down in the tight noose that was made for him. He's a free spirit, you see, and he also really likes pushing people's buttons to see what'll make them explode. He's not a bad person, not really, just petty and catty. He won't lie to save face and certainly won't stroke anyone's ego. All he wants to play his lyre- which is mostly what he does. He lingers in the temples in the Order's complex, drinking and writing new music for the festivals. Whilst this is technically freeloading, he is a very devout man and would happily stay there legitimately, if he could. Alas, he's no paladin and no priest, so he flits from place to place from day to day, avoiding responsibilities and the future and basking in the sunlight. |
