Biography

 Glaedr is the founder of the clan. She lived in happy tranquility with her mate, Faranth, in their tiny shaded glen. One day, he decided to leave their happy home and dedicate himself to the Gladekeeper. He begged her to come with him, but she would not. Dejected and alone, she wandered the forest. For weeks, a storm ravaged the lands and Glaedr found death and destruction at every turn. Hatchlings wandered the dense forests crying for mothers they would never find. She tried to coax them to join her, but the babies refused to leave and wanted to wait for their mothers. This happened to all but two little hatchlings. One, whom she named Atlantis, was evidently a runt. He was wispy and scrawny and his little bones rattled in the breeze. The other, named Mowgli, was outgoing and adventurous. He would run ahead of her and Atlantis, digging for beetles and choice plants for his new mother. When her boys were about a month old, they returned to the old glen. She helped them expand it, and create a comfortable den within a tree for them to share. Now, many many years later, she lives happily and restfully within the very tree she hollowed with her sons, watching as the clan grows bigger and stronger by the day. |
