||The Tracking Shadow||

e3f21Ng.jpg
The second of the four night guards is Corvus, the only clan-born member of the crew. He patrols close to the lair with fellow member Webber. Due to his arcane abilities he is most at home (literally and figuratively) and holds the best advantage over the other members. Being able to control and tap into the world around him means he can detect things in ways the others can’t. He’s trained the essence of the magic around the lair to alert him to trespassers. If you’re wandering close and the air around you suddenly forms the shape of a corvid and shoots off, well, you’re in for some trouble. If you’re wise you’d want to turn tail and leave before Corvus and the crew are descending upon you. The magic birds Corvus controls can often be spotted during the day while he’s asleep and they relay things to him once he’s awake. When the land here is always shifting and changing it’s important to stay informed.

Often if you are able to stay up late enough you might catch Andromeda fussing over her beloved sun before he begins his watch, buffing out a mark in his armour or straightening his feathers. He used to kick up a big fuss when he was younger and first starting out but now he loves the time they get to spend together, since their schedules don’t often sync. You might see one of his magical birds hanging out with her during the day too, helping out with small jobs in the hatchery. The bird would also kick up a lot of magical energy should anything happen in the hatchery, alerting to any problems that could possibly occur. For now it’s only screeched about a poisonous snake that snuck in a few months back. At least they know it works!

Since Corvus gets to experience the waking world vicariously through his birds, he’s taken quite an interest in tracking. Monitoring and documenting the habits and gradual changes of the inhabitants of the Isles. His birds keep him updated and sometimes follow creatures that migrate to other areas to see how they live. He can’t maintain the magic for long periods outside of the Isles, so they go less well documented than ones that stay put. On his time off he likes to travel to different regions to see how the migrators are fairing.

Exalting Corvus to the service of the Arcanist will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
