"Come in, come in! Tell me about your travels! "
It's hard not to stare through the windows of the ---- Inn, adorned with a lovely hanging sign and waypost to the town, vines scaling down the rustic bricks. The glass is clear and you can see inside, dragons bustling from movement, maws moving, smiling, laughing. You follow their eyes to the star of the show, currently pouring a cup of tea for an elderly Pearlcatcher.
The name tag pinned to the neat vest, first few buttons open, is purely for show, and rather unnecessary. You can hear his name already, everyone knows it, the two short syllables ring out melodically in an array of voices around the inn - Kuro, mind getting me a refill? May I reopen that tab? Yes, I know it's my third time doing it, I swear on my life it's the last one. Won't you do an old pal a favour, Kuro? Kuro! Can I get my leaves boiled, not fried? The bell jingles as you enter, the voices becoming louder, clearer than from the outside of the shop. The Veilspun is leaning over the bar, mixing a warm drink right in front of a teenage hatchling, wide eyes watching the handiwork of the best bartender in all of Paravelle. Likely the only one, for now at least. His mane swishes as he moves, spotting you with a careful eye, smirk still going strong. A set of neatly trimmed claws motion you to a seat at an empty side table, carved round, with a sweet tablecloth and a bowl of free flowers, to eat or to enjoy depending on one's diet. "Welcome, welcome! Take a seat, if you will, thank you kindly. I'll be a moment." His tone isn't loud but you still hear him, complying, watching as he wordlessly mouths an excuse to his companions at the bar, a promise to come back later to tell them all about the Great Velka's unusual tea orders. The menu is plucked out of the stand, Kuro's head staying oddly even as his body snaked around the tables, mane rocking close to the floor. He offers it to you with both hands, a little bow with a charismatic smile. "Welcome to the [insert name here]! Take your pick - I hope you had a pleasant day, and even if not, it's my job to make it better, ain't it? There's plenty 'o things here, all tastes and flavors, shapes and sizes. And as soon as you're ready, just call me right over, I'll take your order. Or just yell it across. Whichever's easier, yeah? Or.. do you already see something you like?" !~MENU HERE~! The claws work quickly, scribbling down your order in horrible handwriting. "That, my dear, is an excellent choice. I'd recommend that to you myself really - it's a personal favourite of mine, you know. Sauce just melts in your mouth, I must say it's absolutely impeccable how the cook prepares it. You know, pairs wonderfully with ginger ale. Self-brewed here, all homemade." His name is called elsewhere, Kuro flashing them a look and a nod, bright smile widening as he looks at you once more. "I'll come by later with your order. Leave the menu here for now - in case you want to order something else, yeah?" With a wink the Veilspun is already off, twirling between the tables with his tray in hand, depositing teacups and picking up dirty cutlery as he went. written by gay4dragonz |
