It’s quiet here. A soft, gentle breeze tickles the sloping branches of the willows, making the leaves rustle against the ground. The sun is setting in the distance, kissing the grassy hill and casting long shadows behind the headstones. Fireflies have begun to dance in the half-light, glittering like a thousand stars and serenaded by cricket song. There is a certain peace to this place that can be felt with a shuddering sigh and the caress of fading sunlight. He sits beneath the tree and closes his eyes, a deep breath leaving his lungs. It truly is a beautiful night.

Apocryphon often appears in places of tragedy and loss, a quiet, dark figure that seems to meld from the shadows and goes unnoticed by nearly all. They say he is a guide of sorts, ferrying souls from one world into the next, and tending ever so carefully to the graves of the departed. He never speaks and he never wavers, but there is a gentle understanding in his eyes and a tenderness to his touch that conveys warmth and safety. On a clear evening, one will find him amongst the graves, watching the sunset and humming in a barely audible tone to himself.
