If you entered the lab area and walked down the brightly lit hallway down to the end, you might be able to hear a curious ticking and clattering to your left, and above it all, a cheerful humming and whistling. If you then turned towards those sounds, you’d be looking straight into Tequila’s lab, and you might even see him working on something, all the while a big smile on his face - but not because it is him who is obviously enjoying his time so much. Nay, it is his wife, in her own little (but always expanding) corner of the lab, tinkering with some of her many weird creations; and nothing makes Tequila more happy than seeing his wife so cheerful and upbeat (other than his own work maybe). Sol started her life as an engineer on the Shifting Expanse, but she soon grew weary of it and left in search of a better place. The stress and all that pressure - to always be the fastest, the most efficient worker, and for all her work to be without flaw - that wasn’t for her. She much prefers working on her own schedule, taking as much time as she wants to, and not needing to worry about perfection - though this does not mean that she doesn’t take care in what she creates! In fact, she is quite the perfectionist, though she does like to embrace the flaws of her creations every now and then. |
Nowadays she spends her time working on all manners of weird apparatuses, most of which only she knows the purpose of - machines, whizzing and whirring and buzzing, in all manner of shapes and sizes (though never larger than a fae). Her favourite, however, are clocks, and a peek into the den that lies just behind the lab would reveal walls covered in them. Large clocks, small clocks, round ones and square ones, clocks with a pendulum and clocks without, and some with strange little animals singing a cheerful song once every hour - the collection is always growing. Whenever Sol isn’t working on clocks or one of her weird apparatuses, she likes to create toys - little robots, fueled by magic or electricity, or a mix sometimes, whatever she likes best on that day - or, most valuable for the clan, explosives. These she likes to conceal as other things, or to ornament them with intricate designs, all the while knowing that their beauty will be of short duration. And whenever she takes a break from work, she likes to walk down the narrow stairway that leads down to the forge, cookies and cake that she baked herself in her claws, to have a chat with Andromeda and Aulon, while they all chew down on the sweet treats that she brought (though they are, of course, nowhere near as good as Sugarkiss’ creations, but they are still very good in their own right). |
