veterinarian | familiar caretaker
The clan's familiar caretaker and vet. She takes care of all familiars that have bonded with the clan but do not have a dedicated companion or caretaker and has created a familiar sanctuary for them. She can also house familiars of dragons that don't have large enough dens or can't create the correct environment to accommodate them. For large or constantly growing familiars, she goes to Pretzel for the same potion she created for her own familiar to stunt their growth. Newts used to be her favorite food and playthings when she was a hatchling, giving her her name. It was probably more of a nickname that stuck, but her original name is now lost. She was once transformed into a newt for some time and was adopted by a giant newt family and is often seen with swarms of them clinging to her. She has carved out a pond near her own den for them. The circumstances surrounding her transformation and how she returned to her original form are mysterious. Newts are no longer eaten in the clan, because to every other dragon newts are indistinguishable from each other, and it'd be awkward to have a snack only to discover later that you've eaten the veterinarian's adoptive grandmother, or something. Some dragons go even further in their caution and avoid eating salamanders in general and even some reptiles, because they just can't tell the difference and don't want to risk it. She is a pacifist and is the lowest ranking Wildclaw of the clan. She is rarely challenged to fight, but she refuses to when it happens, nor does she hunt for the rest of the clan. She is always courteous and accommodating to her fellow clanmates, but at one point she finally had to put her foot down about boundaries and personal property. Some clanmates preferred to get their water from around her den, believing it to be the cleanest. She tends to find that annoying, especially when they drink from the pond, and she ends up having to replenish the water far too often. She finally forbid dragons to come around her den or familiar sanctuary for anything that is not social or familiar related. Rumor has it that the real breaking point was when one dragon accidentally swallowed a newt family member. It's said that the usually peaceful Newt displayed such an uncharacteristic ferocity that no one dares tempt fate again. Some who claim to have witnessed the event even say that she was so fearsome that, if she weren't so pacifist, she could even be of one of the highest ranks among the Wildclaws of the clan. These rumors are to be forever unsubstantiated, as the dragon said to have caused The Newt Incident is no longer part of the clan to confirm. Incidentally, all of her family is present and accounted for. She despises Phycol, naturally, being the greatest supporter and sympathizer toward the beastclans. It's mutual. |

Apparel Notes: debating on taking the vest off because it is such a weird brown compared to the others. wish it had a slightly warmer tone to match the fur or wraps. The fur leg wraps and the tail feathers layer awfully no matter which is on top punch me in the face
