Despite being one of the smallest dragon breeds in Sornieth, Ares is not one to be messed with. On top of his impressive collection of weapons, he knows several spells that increase his size temporarily for battles. His penchant for rage and violence led Lauren--the clan's Lar-- to name him after a mythological god of war in her culture. Whenever he sees a suspicious dragon lurking around the mouth of Whitetip Cave, he makes sure they know intruders aren't welcome here. Luckily he's very perceptive when it comes to analyzing threats, so he's never accidentally singed a well-meaning stranger who's come to visit the lair. On top of defending the Sharkspirits from other dragons, he also goes on patrol for encroaching beastclans. Although the Undertides have recently been teaching the clan that not all marens are bad, he hasn't quite stopped chasing the fishy beings off when they get too close. Although Ares doesn't seem like the type to love anything other than carnage, he does have a mate who he treasures dearly. Aphrodite is different from him in many ways (for one thing, she's a lot bigger), but they don't let that hinder their love. They were originally put together by Lauren so that they would match the relationship of her mythological gods they were named after, but luckily for her they formed a genuine connection on their own. |
