TO WRITE: The story of how Teqqer met Sarinda and they came back to Cliffside Cove together. Ending with Teqqer becoming restless and Sarinda encouraging him to explore Sornieth.

Teqqer always wanted to travel to the Southern Ice Fields! He had seen them on the horizon from the cliffs near the Twisting Crescendo, the ice gleaming in the sun, sparkling seductively. He was dying for a closer look.

Little Teqqer (tekker) kept trying to climb out of his shady nest in the direction of the Cove, so finally Teqiu had his nest pulled down to the beach where the hatchling promptly fell asleep in the sunshine. His mother wrapped her long body around the nest and fell into the slumber of watchful parents.

Teqiu was woken near sunset by Aster who, seeing her awake, held up a claw.

"Shhh. Look at our boy..."

Teqqer was wide awake, propped against the nest, watching the setting of the sun. His feathery wings were now dry and they vibrated in little fits and starts, sending a buzzing sound pulsing around the cove. As the sun touched the ocean, the little hatchling bounded out of the nest, his nascent wings barely keeping him aloft. He made a crooked beeline for the shore.

"He can fly! That's not...usual this young, is it?" Aster turned to ask his nestmate, but Teqiu was already up and over the nest.

"Maybe he can fly, but I'm pretty sure he can't swim, Aster! A little help here?!"

"...Oh, right! Coming!" Aster followed her down the beach.
