Ethos knows much much more than anyone truly intends for him to know; personal, private, or even political.

Absolutely lives on his own for the hermit/solitude lifestyle, avoiding the main town and it's roads unless he needs to shop for supplies

A dying warrior was possessed by the remnants of a cosmic horror he was being trained to destroy. Now the thing is keeping him alive, and his own heart is keeping it alive in turn. Tendrils wrap around and hold him together in some places, jagged and purpled. Now he has to keep himself going and keep the entity contained as best as his failing body can.

As Ethos falls apart with serious injuries and no healers in sight, the entity replaces and repairs what it can out of scavenged parts from Ethos's pet projects or its own fetid, writhing form if no creations are in easy reach. This includes Ethos's left eyes, replacing both with the vibrant red of the cosmic entity itself. They’re both running on fumes, very little of Ethos’s original body remaining for his parents and original clan to even have the chance to recognize.

There are two shapes that his wings often take the form of. The soaring style is good for deep space travel (which doesn't happen as often as Ethos wants) but the style tends to be very disruptive when used in atmospheres, quite awkward and stilted in flight,, so the albatross/dragonfly wing hybrids are used instead when in atmospheres. Both sets will "glitch", according to Ethos, and fail at random. In flight he’s always followed by a trail of space matter due to how intertwined Ethos and the entity truly are.

He was drafted as part of a front line defense against rips in space and whatever may spill out from them, namely the Forbidden Portal and it's ilk. Ethos’s role was to attack and distract, to help restrain the opponents while more sturdy allies took care of the rest.

But towards the end Ethos started to gain his own sentience, in a way, breaking the indoctrination of his employer. Enough that he was able to save his squadron from a strike that heavily injured Ethos and lead to him being abandoned as they fled for their lives, just long enough for the entity to find his still breathing body.

Ethos does better in cold temperatures because it’s easier to maintain his physical form/disguise, and he’s old enough that he picked up on just enough different variants of magic that he was able to make it work for him. His mask also functions as an air filter, as he is slowly becoming unable to breathe in atmo.

Even though Ethos's dimension is closer to Sornieth geographically, it might as well be another world altogether. At least Vtheryos can get back to it's homeland with just a few spells nearby an Arcane rune stuck in a portal! The world hasn't given Ethos a way to get home. But now, with the strange portal in the ancient cities...he has some exploring to do, and some serious experiments to try.

This dragon is less an inventor as someone who invents whatever he feels like doing today, which sometimes happens to involve Magic in some form or fashion. This makes him far more frightening than a loyal Lightning flight who actually focuses on Magic, because all of that knowledge is just sitting there. Waiting.
