Unusual for a Fae, Boian ("bone") is adept at understanding other dragons' emotions, while still hiding his own. He had grown up away from other Fae, and learned early on that he needed to understand what other dragons were thinking and feeling before they acted on their thoughts, as a way to stay safe. He also trained with other dragons in physical fighting, never honing his magic.

This allows for him to be the ideal guard. Many see a small Fae flitting around Bevyn's head and assume he's harmless. However, Boian is always focused on observing those around the clan leader and his mate. His small size and fast reflexes allow him to intercept threats with ease, while his physical prowess distracts those who are unused to seeing a Fae use weapons.

Though, mostly, he saves Bevyn from poisonous desert snakes and scorpions, as the clan leader was often too busy chatting to watch his step in the desert.
