Shima is a somber member of Basilisk's lair. As Head of Hunt, she is responsible for keeping the stockrooms high with food for Alit to prepare. She rarely spends much time in the lair, preferring to spend her time in the wilds - even when she isn't hunting. Though she was raised among Basilisk's clan and generally considers Basilisk her mother, she retains a very Plagueish fascination with death and serves as Basilisk's favored dissector, making clean and precise cuts in even the smallest corpses.

Although she usually hunts independently, relying only on her familiar Ember's help, she sometimes enjoys the company of her son Lot, whose nervous demeanor and unusual physicality have left him unpopular with his peers. She hasn't looked to have more children since her first mate left to serve the Lightweaver, taking their other children, but she's happy enough as Head of Hunt and perfectly fine being alone.
