Although she was hatched a Tundra, Layla never felt like she fit the expectations of her breed -- neither her own nor those of others. She felt restless in her own skin and she longed for a change, although she did not know what that change might be. It was only when the Aberrations emerged that she started to be able to shake those feelings.

She was fascinated, enchanted, allured. She wanted to know more about these fierce primal dragons, their strength and their will to survive. Therefore she travelled and she sought them out.

She was much changed when she returned to her clan. At least, so it seemed to them. As far as Layla was concerned, she had finally become exactly and exquisitely herself. Or themselves, as it were.
