Cheerful and happy, Orion is a shimmering beacon of light against the shade. He is often paired with the mages, to act as their shield, and as a shield for others. He's resistant to the shade, whether naturally or from his alchemy hobby, it's incredibly useful. He can even impart his gifts to others.

He first came to the guild's attention for his work with his potions, particularly the odd iridescent brews and tonics that purged the shade, brews and tonics Mourica was eager to get her claws on for her stores. But Orion was far from interested in selling his work, not seeing it as feasible, he was constantly traveling after all. So, Mourica cut a deal with him. If he agreed to settle down at the hall and make the potions for the guild, she'd arrange for him to have new ingredients and time to experiment. This appealed to him, as it meant stability, and a chance to broaden his knowledge of his hobby. So he joined them as a specialist.

But Orion always would be a traveler, never content to stay in one spot forever. So he chose to renegotiate the deal with Mourica. He'd still produce the potions for the guild, but he also would be allowed to go on hunts himself. The terms were settled and he was soon more than just the in-house potions master, he was a full guild member. Orion soon proved he wasn't just a scholar, but a fighter, and a good one at that. He easily would brush off hits from the shade monsters, and repel them with the light produced by his markings, making him a favourite partner of the guild mages.
