The Metal Warden
I am the mighty one now. A shooting star... Moonfire would help, and does when she can, but she is finding it difficult to escape her statueform. Until the Arcane radiation dies down, she can summon only a few hours of mobility each day. * As the Arcane warp fades, Moonfire is able to spend more time mobile. She helps out where she can, but statue fits can come on unexpectedly. * Moonfire is relieved to have everything resolve at Greenskeeper Gathering, but her experiences have left her rattled. She's considering leaving to see what she can learn in Earth Flight, or at least Light. |

Moonfire is a jack-of-all-trades. Primarily employed in the border patrol and in gathering plant resources from the border forests, she will nevertheless throw herself into any activity the clan might need, whether that is aiding Yskerryth or cleaning up after a major ash storm. She spent a very long time separated from the clan once, and seems to feel happy just to be included. When not at work, Moonfire can often be found lounging in Beebalm's gardens, or on the clan borders, talking to a scruffy spiral who isn't quite part of the clan. Moonfire is closest with her immediate kin: her sisters Sprucetip and Hedysara, and cousin Firestone. She remains respectful and trusting of her aunt, Kellinlii, despite her ambiguous position within the clan. She has also bonded with the strange little gaoler Flux Sentinel, as her past strongly resembles Moonfire's time away from the clan, whenever the pirates make port. Golemwork Moonfire's skin is made of a regenerating metallic mesh which sprouts oily steel fur, an unusual application of Ithiliisahn's infiltrator-essence now harmonized with obelisk mutability. Underneath she still seems to be flesh and blood, and eats, breathes, and sleeps like any other dragon when not in statue state. The coarser wires of her wing-membranes and mane are prone to corrosion, especially in Cindercone's salt air, and are covered in a layer of surface iron oxide. Areas of her legs and horns develop a crude anodization that tends to flake off. During the Season of Wind, when she sheds the thicker winter coat, she becomes a source of fine steel wires. Due to her need for a regular supply of iron, Moonfire occasionally eats meat or blood when the clan's supply of mosquitoes and devilsnap run low. She favors jerked striped monitor and hellbender, or the blood of larger animals like elk. Craft Moonfire favors textile crafts, utilizing wool, tundra fur, and flax. She has little interest in making elaborate tapestries, but warm blankets and sweaters with soothing, colorful patterns are a mainstay. She also regularly makes and mends nets. Physical description Moonfire is a somewhat small, lightweight obelisk with proportionately large wings. Her hide is metallic and gleams with an oily sheen, and her mane sheds rusty flakes. She has the careful movements of someone who has recently become a great deal larger, and smells strongly of oil and metal overlaid with cherry blossoms. She uses padded gloves to soften her otherwise loudly metallic footsteps. As yet she can neither fly nor swim, though she is taking lessons in both. Statue form Moonfire's statue form is solid, heavy, and clearly metallic. Sourced largely from her own Ice element, the transformative magic renders her cold to the touch. She rarely uses the form, concerned that as someone without Earthshaker's blessing she might become stuck. Combat Moonfire is a competent fighter of midrank, utilizing icy magic and endurance in a typically tundra fashion. She is, however, surprisingly light on her feet, and faster than most opponents anticipate. |

Origin Moonfire hails from Northslope Clan, Cindercone Clan's longstanding ally. She spent her fledgelinghood there, and is fond of what little of it she can recall. Initially, Moonfire came to Cindercone Clan, during their days in Fire, to go into Flamecaller's service; but during her battle-training suddenly lost her nerve. Certain she could not become a warrior, she stayed with the clan until she could find a craft that she could excel at with proper passion. She was considered an upstanding member of the clan and an indispensable help to the Forgeworkers. During the journey from Cindercone to Derecho Canyon, Moonfire became ill and eventually collapsed, forcing the leading group to leave her behind. This sickness was presumably part of her transformation into her current state; she revived shortly thereafter with no memory. |

Kin Moonfire is the oldest daughter of Allspice, Kellinlii's twin brother, and Oreamne, both tundras and prominent members of Northslope Clan. Niece to Kellinlii and Hazard. Full sister of Sprucetip and Hedysara, and half-sister of Ranger. First cousin once removed to Nightforest and Comandrus. First cousin of Firestone of the Rogue's Camp, and Tanbo and Leafblaze of Northslope. Aunt to Tarandrus. |

In hopes of properly mastering her statue-form, Moonfire has taken this enchanted statue? mimic? as a familiar. So far no one has seen them move, but they reposition themselves around different columns and other vertical structures around the clan when no one is watching.
