Biography
Lore Notes:
- Ningyo is often known as the "human-fish" or mermaids of Japanese mythology. However, Ningyō stands for Japanese traditional dolls or puppet. In Ningyo's case, "puppet" is the best fitting meaning for her unusual ability.
- Ningyo is just like any normal nocturne when it comes to the habit of mimicking the dragons around her, however, she takes it a mile further.
- She can shift her appearance to replicate any dragon species with no limitations. From fae to imperials she is never in one form for more than a day. Her shape would depend on who she is around that day, and most times she would not have realized she had changed.
- Ningyo was very chatty, and will pick up speaking quirks from dragons (for example, if another dragon has a stutter, she would end up having one for the time being). The same goes for subtle movements such as the way a dragon walks, flies, eats, etc.
- However, due to her constant desire for conversation she is often told to shut up - it had gotten to the point she had gradually developed mutism where anxiety takes over her when faced with strangers in fear they would find her annoying if she were to speak.
- Because of her constant shifting, dragons tend to forget how her true form looks like or even what species she was born as - and even Ningyo herself tends to forget, resulting in a frequent identity crisis. She keeps paintings and such of herself to remind her who she truly is, but lately, she started to see the paintings shift as well...
- She tends to stare into mirrors a lot, it would be the only thing that distracts her from copying others. Her room is filled with different sizes shapes and frames of mirrors - anything that reflects would end up there (does not make a comfortable place to invite a guest)
- Though controllable in some ways, because of her breeds' behavior it's hard for her to be herself - she doesn't even know who "she" is.
