T he tunnels beneath the Garden house many things lost to time. While some tell of a strange serpentine wolf, others whisper of a faded sandy figure instead. Few ever leave her side, but those who do whisper of a gilded gaze guiding them home, if they can handle the journey.

This is tale of the Bitten, Eidolon.

"What happens to the memories of those who pass from this world?"

It was a question that Bakar asked himself frequently and it would often bubble to the surface of his mind, echoing hauntingly. Waiting to be answered. "Your thoughts are loud today, Bakar". The voice that reverberated through his mind was familiar, although he knew that it spoke for all of those who comprised the Royal Council. "Ah, cousin. Apologies" he replied, the shared mental link vibrating with a symphony of soft, incessant whispers. Bakar stared down at the tome he cradled in his arms, tracing a golden claw over the leather cover. "I just wonder, if this is the only way".

"What do you mean?"

"All of these books. Made from the memories of the dead and collected here to gather dust."

Shilo remained silent, waiting for Bakar to continue. "What if the stories could continue to write themselves?"

"An interesting concept. How do you propose to achieve that?"

The chronicler smiled. "I intend to bring those memories back to life."

"What do you mean, a spirit?"

The hardened Pearlcatcher glares at the students, wary of their statements. He's heard such things before, a spirit roaming the halls of the Archives, but those were just stories as far as he knew. Sure, some of the other archivists supposedly saw him, but the younger ones, much like himself, really only ever saw a glimpse every now and again. Besides, this story was different. This one wasn't seen in the archives, but instead in the Garden. Supposedly.
