As the younger sister of Minerva, Athena always felt left behind, but the worst - always felt this pressure others laid upon her. She can't be Minerva and she doesn't want to be Minerva. Still the wastelanders handled her rough and always disliked her soft and emotional self.
When her sister found her weak and sick in a pile of broken eggs, she was so thankful of being adopted by a strong dragon like her. But when she learned about Minervas credo, her motto, Athena was sure that's not the reason why she was save now.

"We have to distrust each other. It is our only defense against betrayal.", was what Athena heard her whole life, but she never lived liked that.
She's thankful towards Minerva, but decided to go a much harder way of life. Trusting others, caring for one another - that's the ultimate life-challenge Athena can think of. The way she's feeling when experiencing injustice, loss and caginess was more strength to her, than wielding a sword or fighting to the bone - like her "big sister" does.

After a while Athena established herself as some sort of a therapeutic listener to all the fighters and troubled dragons in this clan.
