Biography
It was an accident.
He hadn’t really meant to save her, back when he only saw her as an unfortunate victim of the Beastclans, laying on the dusty ground and waiting for death’s embrace. In fact, though he had rushed towards her, he had also debated to himself whether or not he should save her.
There was no chance that he could save her through the more normal means, not with how she was practically one step in her grave already. No; normal medical supplies would not be any help to her. His version of help was more of using dark magic, but he knew that most would prefer to die rather than having that sort of healing — well, if it could even be called healing.
He paused a few feet away, frowning. He was more than familiar with not being able to save someone, of having someone die near him, but it was different when it was him stumbling upon someone, and having to actively make the choice of saving them or not.
Just as he was starting to take a step back, he noticed the Tundra panting louder, and her eyes landing on him.
“Please…” she rasped out, her voice low but clear despite her state, and Harkan felt his heart skip a beat. “Help me…”
‘Ah,’ he thought. ‘I think I’m in love.’
Perhaps it was a little more than sick of him, to decide on saving someone because he fell in love with their voice when they were at death’s doorstep. Still, he wasn’t going to just let this lovely Tundra slip away from his arms and never hear her voice again.
“It’s alright, I’ll help you,” he soothed, raising his hands up. The Tundra would undoubtedly be changed by his dark magic, as everything would always be, but that was fine. He could deal with everything else later.
And as the Tundra sighed, and her eyes started to slip shut, Harkan started chanting.
