Raised by a clan of Skydancers, made his own antennae, rescued an egg from a raiding party, now has an assistant and child in the form of Helios.
He taught the kid as much as he could about being a Skydancer, Helios' natural affinity for dance helping immensely.
Nowadays they live in a mildly haunted manor. And every time Helios casts an exasperated deadpan at his dad after the third animated furnishing tries to bite his foot, Malcolm just chuckles and says "At least the rent's cheap"


The family of Skydancers that took Malcolm in just so happen to be related to the prestigious clan from the Roost. And subsequently; to the ever infamous Cannalily of Roc Nest Tavern. She's a great hostess, and Malcolm and Helios are more than welcome to visit; you know, if they actually knew about the Tavern and didn't own a manor that needed major, and constant upkeep.

It is still uncertain which is funnier; Everyone knowing that he's a Nocturne, but going along with it anyway; no one knowing that he's a Nocturne; only Malcolm knowing that he's a Nocturne; or Malcolm not knowing, but his adoptive family does know, but never think to mention it.
