For a dragon so closely bound to the occult and so often mired in danger, Rudra is astonishingly cheery. On the job, he works alone, of course, but on the several days he takes off, he spends the time goofing off with friends around Caelbloom's prime gathering spots. He is a regular at both Second Wind and Azure Vertex and is known to strike up conversations with random clanmates at any opportunity, and he seems to have a carefree smile on his face at all times. Rudra can even uphold a conversation about the weather for half an hour (timed by Cantabile). He really enjoys practicing sleight of hand and silly magic tricks and loves to show them off to anyone who will watch, and he even seems to be genuinely entertained by Cantabile's pranks. He gets along well with hatchlings and is often invited to the Hibiscus Althaeous to entertain them with card tricks, and his simple sense of humor seems to amuse the children greatly. In this respect, a newcomer might even accuse him of being a bit of a slacker.
Though he and his friend Crivăț work in similar fields, their everyday personalities are diametrically opposed. (Reportedly, they do reach comparable levels of seriousness and capability when actually on the job.) His disposition could be either a blessing or a curse—unlike Crivăț, Rudra doesn't try to contain his true self, and his peppiness is just natural for him. Of course, an outgoing personality could be justified logically: friendships and amicable connections are helpful for information gathering and access. Both are valuable in tracking down sources of evil and taking them down. Still, his days off are also important to him for more personal reasons, as he is an agapeic extrovert on a relatively lonely path.
Rudra spends the majority of his time in the unstable fringes of the light and dark. Most days bring him face-to-face with the cold unknown. He fears his own nature, even if it does aid him in his work, and these stretches of solitude take their due toll on his strength. He knows his will is ironclad. His bloodline may be beyond his control, but his duty is one he takes on voluntarily. His role is dear to him and it is his choice alone. Even so, for his own peace of mind, he makes sure to take these days off to remind himself of what he is protecting. His bonds are his precious tethers to the mundane world, an anchor of conviction for a watchdog who chooses to waver so between domains.
His nickname fits him very, very well, but it seems to be a source of great suffering for him. His friends—his "precious tethers"—are relentless with their teasing, referring to him as "puppy" and "doggy" or praising his work as a "good boy" at every chance they get.
