Biography
Iceblink was ill when she flew in from the north. In spite of the advantage given to her by her element, plauge in its numbers and insidiousness had nearly overcome her, and she struggled under the weight of her gembond.
She collapsed outside of Wandering Gale's lands. Plague philosophy might have left the imperial to succumb, but in Wandering Gale, after some careful discussion kindness prevailed and healers went to see to her. She was not brought into clan enclaves, but treated at a careful distance in case she should die or prove highly infectious. The worst didn't happen: slowly but surely, Iceblink recovered.
It was then that her new clan mates found that she'd lost all memory of her former life. She had no idea where else to go, or indeed if there was anyone who'd welcome her elsewhere. The only remnants of her past is Iceblink's terror of plague. She's skittish of Juniper, and unfortunately of the rest of the clan's plague population too. Some of them take more advantage of it than others.
Still, the scientist Alicanto, a lightning dragon who developed a non-infectious, non-harmful way to induce gembond in a dragon, took Iceblink under her capacious wing. She treated Iceblink's painful gembond until it was healed, and without pressuring Iceblink eventually the younger imperial chose to undergo the harmless electrolysis treatment on her own, until beautiful ice-blue jewels lumped up over her scales.
When Alicanto chose to join the Windsinger, after a long life and many accomplishments, Iceblink took the electrolysis business over. She is clever and able of mind, if still weak of wing and claw, and slowly she branches further into her own research. Alicanto's friends miss her, but they have adopted Iceblink and made her welcome just as Alicanto did.
