Role: Hunting Team

You can take the dragon out of Plague, but you can't take the Plague out of the dragon...or something like that.

Abandoned even before birth, Nela was taken in--somewhat reluctantly--by the Arcane dragons of Lobella and Vintes' clan, whose reactions to harboring a Plague dragon were...mixed.

Mostly, nobody thought that she would stay. Everyone, including her adoptive parents Arlina and Ritovel, expected that she would one day leave for the Scarred Wasteland, return to her ancestral homeland, that one day she would go scavenging in the Abiding Boneyard and never come back...

But she hasn't left, nor does she have any plans to. Curt, blunt, and somewhat rude (to the eternal frustration of her mother, who insists that I didn't raise a hainu), she rarely opens up to the other members of the clan. When asked if she'll ever return to the Wasteland, the most detailed response she's ever given is "No. I like it here."

Seremore is the only dragon who's ever managed to get her to truly open up...probably. The clan can barely get more than five words out of him, too. They're a perfect match.

Arlina shuddered as she surveyed the Scarred Wasteland. She had finished scavenging for potentially valuable trinkets and was waiting on her mate to return from digging.

"Ritovel! The sooner you come back here, the sooner we can leave!"

"I'm on my way!" Arlina sighed in relief when she saw Ritovel flying towards her, a small pile of materials in his arms. When he landed, Arlina noticed that he had been holding something else as well, his tail wrapped tenderly around a small item...

He delicately placed it on the ground, gently releasing his grip on the egg.

"A plague egg?!"

Ritovel smiled. "Just lying there."

"Put it back!"

"You're wel--put it back? Just abandon it?"

"I'm not going to bring a plague egg back to the lair! And neither are you!"

"We can't just abandon a hatchling, Arlina. Especially not here." He gestured to the bone-scattered wasteland surrounding them. It was a convincing argument.

"But...but plague..."

Whatever Arlina was about to say in protest went unsaid as the pulsating egg suddenly burst, covering both dragons in a noxious, foul-smelling fluid.

Arlina rubbed her forehead with her paws, looking at the hatchling in front of her. "And a Mirror, too...well, I guess now we have no choice but to take her..."

The baby Mirror let out an ear-piercing wail which even caused Ritovel to wince.
