-Underneath the Scarlet Devil Mansion lies the Great magic Library, Voile. This is where Patchouli resides and studies magic relentlessly, accompanied by her swarm of devil familiars, which seem to all be under the command of a slightly larger one she nicknames Koakuma. Rumors seem to fly around that her familiars originate from Makai, but people never really asked her in person if this was true. - Patchouli doesn't like visitors very much, especially when unplanned. Needless to say, she wasn't perticularly fond of Reimu and Marisa breaking in unpromted on their first encounter, but given the context, she's decided to let it slide over time... except for Marisa who keeps doing it over and over again with her big fluffy paws full of stolen one of a kind priceless pieces of magic archives every time she leaves. - The pearlcatcher is passionate about her research. She hardly gives up, and given her long lifespan like most mages, repeatedly looks for tough analysis and challenges for her to crack and record. All of her books are one-of-a-kind, and even though they reach numbers that can be counted to the millions, she has, in fact, read them all and memorized most. - Due to her frail physique and numerous health conditions, she isn't a very good fighter. Deadly on the first minutes, yes, but endurance is where she can lose the upper hand fast. - Patchouli is in great terms with Remilia, who is in fact the one who helped make Voile a reality. The vampire child often drops by to chat, and is one of the most welcomed guests Patchouli might even be okay with hugging. Coming from Patchouli, it is a HUGE deal. She's NOT tactile or affectionate at all except with good ol' remi! -Flandre, however.... is another can of worms. You see, Patchouli's library is located quite directly next to the high maintenance vampire child's basement. The excited shrieks an loud playtime rambles echoing through the halls at night have disrupted Patchouli's studies more than she'd like to count, and since the mage is too afraid of Remilia's sister to get too close, she never goes to her door to ask her to quiet down when playing. The worst is arguably when Remilia isn't home, which is a guaranteed breakout scene from the Scarlet Devil's sister who will throw a fit to "get Remi back!!!!!". Patchouli will have to use all her power to cast a storm around the mansion to ensure the child doesn't break out, which usually leaves the poor pearlcatcher weak for a long period of time. |
