Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this planter wandered a little too far from his home lair (grxndsxn, 437722), and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to the home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. Please refrain from exalting him!

Important note: Please only trade this dragon on travelling dragon threads, as opposed to places such as the Auction House.

Rugan would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt him after he's been travelling long enough, just let his owner know!

Rugan had traveled a long way, with very little intention of finding a path. He simply followed where the wind took him, his small form easily gliding along with the kiss of a breeze. Eventually, he paused amidst a canopy of lush trees. The plants surrounding him seemed to sing in welcome, and he knew he had found a place to rest. Settling upon a leafy branch, he tucked his nose under his tail and let dreams overtake him.

It was late morning when he was awoken by a very busy Nocturne who was gliding from tree to tree gathering nuts and fruit. Rolling leaves expertly so they stayed intact, and treating the plants with such care that Rugan felt he had met a kindred spirit. The small dragon made himself known in the golden light streaming through the branches, and spoke at length with the gatherer about the forest and its inhabitants. This led to an introduction to the rest of the Clan, and many days spent basking in the sun and learning all he could about the plants growing around him.

Eventually though, he knew that the breezes were calling. Bidding farewell to his kind hosts, the small creature took to the skies once more, his mind buzzing with information about roots, berries, and growth supplements for seedlings. Perhaps this knowledge would come of use later down the road...

Jubilations
He assumed he must of made a mistake somewhere along his journey when he saw ice floats spotting the sea below him. Rugan was following a sweet and earthy floral scent he caught in an updraft some time away. He still had the scent but it must be wrong, as it was coming from what looked like the icefield in the distance. The flora he could smell was rich and foreign. Despite all logic telling him he must be wrong, Rugan followed the scent.

Just as he was about to turn around after flying over the icefield region for some time, he spotted it. Deep in the Skyscrape Crags, a patch of green? He thought it impossible for anything other than pinacae and other cold wasteland foliage to exist in this region, but as he landed in a flourishing and green, oak tree. Astonished, Rugan trekked the area to find many species of flora, and the climate a cozy air to it. A gust of wind and the soft crunch of leaves underfoot signaled to Rugan someone has joined him.
"Who might that be?" a soft voice accompanied the glisten of raven black feathers of a skydancer. Muninn blinked at the sight of Rugan. "Oh, an ancestral." she said allowed to herself.

Rugan asked outright, to avoid any confrontations, "How is.." he looked around at the green surrounding him but couldn't find the words. Muninn smiled softly and explained to him; with the help of the clans combined efforts and skills they've been able to maintain the life in the glen. But it's mostly possible with the help of their clans druids. To which Muninn offered and escorted Rugan to meet with them.

He was introduced to a pearlcatcher who was peering at a sapling tree whilst holding his pearl close to it, his talons curled around it. Rowan smiled softly and then turned to the Veilspun. Rugan asked of his work here in the glen and how their clan managed it. To which Rowan took him to stroll amongst the foliage and tell Rugan of their glen. The select location, the ideal geography, the clans combined efforts and elements have all contributed to this even the familiars. Rugan was enthralled and watched over how the residents tended to the glen all in their own ways, assisted by small familiar companions. Rowan explained that a familiar can help amplify traits. Rowan thought for a moment, and then wandered some feet away from Rugan to investigate some trees. He reached up and lifted something out of the branches of the maple tree-- A Maple Caterpillar. He offered it to Rugan explaining that creature would make for a good familiar as it has had the experience of working with the dragons and this glen.
Rugan thanked him for all he was taught while staying with their clan. With that, and some lessons with his new familiar, he took for the skies...
