c5b98c4e4ace6d7e4db2977d0757c3c34285a80e.png 		Peryton learned how to be a shepherd from Rylese, but prefers the term "wrangler". They manage a large herd of hoofstock familiars beside the clan's main camp, with the help of their corgi Rango. Peryton also often collaborates and shares notes with Fiona, typically contributing to the knowledge of natural familiar behaviors, as well as the current territories of some of the carnivorous familiars in the area. Their observations are less scientific and more practical, due to their lack of formal education in the field, but is appreciated and utilized nonetheless.

When they aren't out rotating grazing fields or disciplining rowdy yearlings, they will sometimes leave Rango in charge of minding the herd while they go out in search of new familiar species to tame. Typically they focus on hoofstock, but ocassionally they will also bring back herps for Newt to study. Despite not really being able to understand his babbling, Peryton appreciates his extreme dedication to his research and his caretaking of his specimens and enjoys feeling as though they are contributing something worthwhile.
It also helps that Newt seems to have an endless stream of funds to offer in exchange for this service.
