While Stomolophus is "The Face" of the Pack, Beltaine is undoubtedly "The Contact." Like most Wind dragons, he is cheerful and breezy in conversations, good-natured and charming. Stomo is the most recognizable of the Pack, and if you find Nanto first, you're probably already dead. The other three are more reclusive, but Bel is happy to be the one to speak. Not that much speaking needs to be done when you're a sextet of hungry Mirrors looking for ruffians to dine upon.

Still, sometimes friendly clans in other flights have problems. Or hear of them. And need them taken care of in a way they can look the other way for. They reach out to Bel, who directs his comedically-simple named Hurricane Herald, Bob, to jot the notes down on his unending parchment. Why is Bob such a funny name? Bob's still trying to figure that out. Bel triangulates the likely hunting locations for the crooks and off the Pack goes.

He carries the most with him. A small bird to chirp and make music and a Reedcleft Resonance, mostly so he can hear the songs he had to leave behind. He doesn't really need it to figure out where home is, but the sound brings him pleasure. He also carries his Standard with him sometimes. The geography of the Windswept Plateau is such that many rivers, brooks and creeks carry through it directly from the Sea of a Thousand Currents, giving the Pack ample shoreline to traverse. He delights in finding a new home base every time the Pack reenters his former land. He favors the Singer's Brook, a place filled with the joyous songs of the Windsinger and his children.

When Bel drank the Water magic vial, billowing plumes of green smoke erupted from his tear ducts and simply never stopped. But from that, he felt more in tune with the air around him. Like he could sense the vibrations of malevolent intent moving on the horizon. His hearing amplified, allowing him to pick up sounds much further than a normal Mirror could - a secret he keeps closely guarded. He felt almost one with the wind, alive in a second sense. Like he could hear the residual prophecies of the Tidelord, their bubbles surfacing and bursting, entering into the air, added to the Windsinger's song. Perhaps the estranged brothers were not so far gone that the Windsinger ignored the foreboding warnings. Perhaps it was simply that the song was out of most dragons' audial ranges.

The luminescent trails of wind never cease to billow from his eyes, surrounding him, drifting all around him, lingering in his wake. Engulfed in the breeze, he seems to float as he runs across the shore. The Pack is the life he has chosen, even though sometimes the sounds overwhelm him. The invisible magic he feels apart of turns discordant and chaotic, out of tune with itself. Then, he knows the Shade is near. In some form or other. At times he has to stay back from the final stages of the hunt, bombarded by the cacophony only he can hear. When he does enter the fray he rarely comes into melee range, preferring to stay back and utilize the Wind magic he still retains to upset their prey's balance with torrential gusts. Surrounded by a turbulent micro-hurricane, he is almost impossible to reach, an impenetrable breeze.

Those who aren't prey find him to be the nicest one.
