Often given offerings during funeral rites to give the soul safe passage to the afterlife. Hevadryn is associated with death and all the processes in preparing the soul for the afterlife. Hevadryn will take the souls of the dead and ferry them into the afterlife. It is believed that Hevadryn guards burial grounds, and that this is where it is easiest to commune with him. Desecrating graves or disrespecting the dead is believed to result in his wrath. His boons tend to be associated with the prevention of death, usually in the form of momentary immortality, while his wrath may result in immediate demise or the stealing of the soul.

When Hevadryn was born to his mother Zetzira and his father Verkadrin, he was a light in the darkness. He was given the domains of life, of births, and of peace. As he grew however, his brother Zakriparus grew envious of his title as Heir to the Throne. Zakriparus struck Hevadryn, terribly wounding him. This instance of betrayal changed something in Hevadryn. In an instance his peace was overcome with a sense of anger, his love for life twisting into a love of the mortal souls. In his rage, he pulled the souls from mortals and lunged out at his brother for vengeance. The grasping souls subdued his brother long enough for his father to cast Zakriparus down to the mortal realm, deep within the oceans. Hevadryn never recovered from the betrayal of his brother, his wounds never healing as a result. He wears bandages over his wounds to soak up the endless blood before it spills onto the earth.
