Biography
Once the medic on the draconic battlefields, Pulse is now retired to the calm, quiet, sun-dappled greenery of the Glade Veins. She is soft-spoken and humble.
Any that are aware of her skill know she should be the go-to dragon for everything - from the smallest, unreachable splinter, to the most horrifyingly egregious wounds - Pulse is able to help dragons that most cannot. She's adept with all first aid, sutures, and an uncommon degree of healing magic.
She doesn't seem bothered at all by injuries, and just works quickly, calmly, and delicately. She treats all dragons in need with respect - even disregarding her own personal grudges or biases.
Most pearlcatchers simply craft their pearls from their own mucus and memories, but Pulse isn't exactly most pearlcatchers. Those who die in her care become a part of her pearl. The energy, memories, and a drop of blood from the dying without kin. She carefully collects them, and combines them with her mucus to form a new layer of iridescent sheen on her pearl. This also strengthens her healing magic, each rescued memory adding its force to her efforts, and mixing together with her own memories of those she has helped, creating a slurry of benevolent magic so pure, the physical presence of the pearl has incredible calming effects.
In honouring those she is unable to save, Pulse soothes their souls and comforts her own in the process; increasing her abilities to save more and more dragons, while keeping alive the memories of the forgotten.
These days, though - luckily - she seldom tends to anything worse than a careless hatchling's broken bone .
