A very intimidating dragon, Lady Heartsblood is an absolutely merciless warrior. Getting between her and an enemy is a very bad idea. When she stalks about on guard duty, many courtiers sequester themselves away from her gaze.

There have been growing whispers that the old queen met her fate at the claws of Lady Heartsblood.

"last absences noted were those of the somewhat cold and aloof Sir Basso and the infamous Lady Heartsblood. Sir Basso's motives are known to no one but himself, unfortunately. Lady Heartsblood, with her known thirst for the crown's power, was sent quietly on her way. In acknowledgement for all of the services she has provided to the crown, she was accorded an honorable departure. Some angrily say she was lucky to be accorded departure at all, which is a sentiment no doubt held by many. Before leaving, several servants witnessed her leaving a small box at the foot of one of the newest palace towers, but when one ran down to check what might have been left, there was nothing to be found save an old and tattered cedar box."

"A strange sight was witnessed at the royal nesting grounds recently. Several witnesses described Prince Emil having a very intense-sounding conversation with Countess Heartsblood. No one was able to hear the meat of what was said, but the witnesses all agree that the prince looked absolutely furious while the countess seemed unruffled by his anger.

One guard assigned to the nesting grounds adds that she heard the prince say "-regardless of personal consequence, I will follow you to your justice". to which the countess is reported to have quipped "looking forward to it". Since then, the countess has been observed to be deliberately baiting the prince with innocuous but calculated-sounding remarks. For his part, the prince is steadfastly refusing to rise to the countess' taunts. He has, however, unsuccessfully tried to undermine her position both in court and in private discussions with his father."
