bio ❧
Born into a large established clan near the Wild Sanctum, Milo grew up alongside a mix of mostly fellow jackdaws and Albino crows, but as he got old enough to begin interacting with dragons outside the clan, he became acutely aware of the dangerous potential of his viral strain and pheromones-and how those who are aware of what albino crow inheritance means reacted to him and his mother.
After an incident where he accidentally infected a travelling merchant visiting the clan, Milo took to wearing gloves and boots to cover as much of his claws as possible, to ensure any brushes of hands or feet don't run the risk of a painfully induced restraining order or the potential of forced obedience. As he began to interact more and more with outsiders, he noticed that while most don't think much of a Wildclaw wearing leg protection, the clunkier gloves attracted more attention, so he took to wearing pairs that blended in more with his natural hand colour.
Cheerful and out-going, Milo loves to chat and make new friends, so when he decided to leave his birth clan, he was quick to form connections as he travelled the Viridian Labyrinth and further afield working odd-jobs and exploring. After trying his hand at several trades, Milo discovered that his talkative nature had already given him a head start on his future career-translation between the many draconic dialects, for every occasion from ensuring legal contracts mean the same thing to both sides, to assisting merchants from opposite sides of Sornieth in their trade deals.
When deciding on a home base for his new job he chose to settle in the peaceful Gladeveins, only a day’s commute to the bustling population centre of the Sunbeam Ruins where budding scholars and archaeologists from across Sornieth gather to compare notes and trade in knowledge-ripe with opportunities for both tutoring and assisting international study teams (the distance is worth it to prevent unwanted out-of-hours consulting requests). It’s also not too far from the main trading routes out of the Viridian Labyrinth up the coast, presenting plenty of potential variety in work.
Making inquiries about clans that might be interested in acquiring a new member (that are likely to either be welcoming to Jackdaws or unaware enough to be indifferent to his Albino crow traits), Milo met Etera at a local trading post, who extended an invitation to join Leaf's family, citing their acceptance of her and Lanelle. While wary of his welcome at first, Milo soon settled in, his talkative nature allowing him to quickly befriend most of the clan's members.

notes ❧
In his free time, Milo enjoys playing matchmaker, although despite setting up many dates he has yet to succeed-none of the pairs that he introduced ever developed serious relationships, although a few have become good friends! He also enjoys sitting quietly to appreciate nature, and made fast friends with Sunshine because of it.
Milo is currently under surveillance by Etera for links to the Viridian Labyrinth's crow community, and as a potential recruit due to his viral strain and pheromone abilities, and his ability to let his albino crow traits go undetected.

abilities ❧ [Scarlet Brand]
A trait stemming from the Albino Crow bloodline.
The dreaded scarlet brand--a contagion unique to the Albino Crow variant. Both the Effluvial (runes) line and the Lesser (peacock) line are able to apply markings on their victims that allow them to become more susceptible to the control of their wing-pheromones.
It leaves a distinctive mark that changes surrounding pigments to a bright red. This mark gives off the appearance that closely resembles that of a flower. Each "flower" is slightly different in variation, but consists of the same key component of a center core, presumably where the injury was inflicted and signals the virus' entry point.
Albino Crows often use this mark as either a one-sided "contract" of sorts to either keep unwilling dragons under its control, or as a ward to keep the dragons in question away from itself. It is delivered via a puncture from their claws.
Key differences to note: Albino Effluvial Crows (runes) are able to mark dragons and Albino Lesser Crows (peacock) are able to mark Beastclans and familiars. The effectiveness of either outside of their normal respective territories creates very mixed, and often unsatisfactory results not limited to outright death.
[Manipulation]
An Albino Crow trait that acts in conjunction with the [Scarlet Brand] viral ability known to this variant. It allows the Albino Crow to influence their “marked” by releasing different varieties of pheromones.
Albino Effluvial Crows can only emit one type of pheromone at a time, but their reign is generally absolute over their marked victims. These pheromones can both be used as defensive or offensive measures.
Albino Lesser Crows can emit multiple types of pheromones and issue more complex, and perhaps even subtle commands. But it generally only really works well on the Beastclan and familiar type creatures.
[Guided Accuracy]
An Albino Crow latent perk. Aiming comes intuitively to them. They know where to strike and when. Of course, practice does help to make sure the hits land and nothing hits them in return; but they are otherwise instinctively guided to their opponent’s weaknesses and only limited by the extent of their physical abilities.
Once that barrier has been removed, however...
[Admirable Ally]
A Lesser Crow latent perk. They have a strong and sincere attitude in assisting their allies in both physical and emotional aspects that transcends species barriers. This trait allows them to fit well in other clans completely unrelated to Crow society, and often sees to it that they fare well.
