Crux was born into a diverse clan situated on a frozen river. He was born blind, and as a result, he was never allowed to roam far, lest he get himself into trouble or killed. As a Skydancer, he dreamed of soaring high in the skies and touching the clouds. He would often have to sit out as his father taught his siblings how to fly and preform aerial tricks. He understood that his lack of vision could prove to make flight a dangerous sport, however he still longed to be like the rest of his family. Although Crux was treated well within the clan, he was always treated differently. His parents compared Crux to a glass figurine, that any roughhousing would shatter him into pieces. As he matured, he wanted to set out on his own journey and find a place to call his own.
Crux didn't have any sense of where he wanted to go; he just knew that he wanted out of the icy tundra. He found himself in Wind territory by mistake. The soft, gentle breeze made him feel at home. Crux believed that this place would give him the chance to learn to fly without risk of a harsh, bitter wind to send him spiraling to the ground. He began to settle there, hoping to find other dragons to befriend and start a clan with. Not long afterwards, Crux started his flight training. As fate would have it, Crux was quite literally blown away by a strong gust. He was carried away from his new territory and landed in the Sea. Crux, never learning how to swim, sank to the bottom of the ocean. Unbeknownst to him, Crux had not just gotten tangled up in seaweed. The Skydancer had mistakenly got tied up in a discarded scroll. The scroll began to change him into a longer and leaner beast. Not really knowing what he looked like to begin with, Crux didn't know that he was now a Spiral. He had assumed that his body was just aging, as it did when he matured. Crux quickly decided that his body changing was the least of his problems: he needed to find land before he'd drown. The dragon managed to find a cavern to take shelter in. Crux collapsed onto the rocky floor before passing out. When he came to, Crux was in a den all on his own. He was let alone for a while by the other dragons that called the Hyannis Clan home. Soon enough, Crux found some courage to introduce himself to the others. A group of bachelor Spirals welcomed him into their brotherhood. Never before did Crux feel like a member of a clan. Crux found himself forming bonds with each Spiral, but he grew especially close to Switch. Switch was also new to the clan, and took it upon himself to 'show' Crux around. The two are rarely seen apart, and both have taken up the opportunity to train with one of Hyannis Clan's eldest and most experienced fighter.
