Rowdy, skittish, and very smart! This little birb was brought into my house before I was aware of the implications of buying a pet at a petshop rather than from a loving breeder. He surely had some trauma, and I could only even begin to train him once his wings grew and he could fly! Being able to get away whenever he wanted made a world of difference for him, and he was now much calmer! Mochi helping me play D&D, what should we do?!

Breakfast!! Beakfest!! Peck peck peck peck- Why is there a toilet paper roll on the table?! For the same reason that there is a birb on the table: mess will be made!

It was a very good run with Mochi. I love him dearly to this day. Wherever this little fella may be, I love him and he has taught me things I couldn't have learned anywhere else. He came to me on a dark time in my life, and as the good sunbirb he is, he was able to light things up! We had so much fun together!

Mochi flew away and got lost. After a year of search, I found myself willing to let it go. I hope he has found himself a wonderful new family and is enjoying a wonderful life. It's already been three years, but simply thinking about it makes me cry. He has brought so much into my life and I really felt we had a rather special connection.


Mochi has taught me to respect tiny animals like himself, he has taught me that aggression usually means fear, that his tiny little beak can draw blood if he wants to, and that I should never pressure a fearful creature. He has taught me to handle, befriend and understand a very smol animal that knows fully well that a big human like me could hurt him at any point. He has taught me it's okay to show affection, it's okay to give it and okay to recieve it, and I couldn't be more thankful for having had him in my life.

No matter how dark your life is right now, Mochi will light it up for you! He's cheering you on (in exchange for some millet seeds) and he's bringing you his white and yellow self to be the sunbirb of your life in your times of need!
