Biography

Born in the Scarred Wasteland, Haruo is as strange as the lands he calls home. Little is known about him other than the fact that is a skilled scavenger and a notorious collector of trinkets. He wandered into the lair one day and made himself at home as though he had lived there his entire life, acting in such a way that no one thought to question his presence. It helped that he brought a wealth of food with him, which he offered to share without even being asked. The generosity was so unexpected that when he continued to show up and bring food with him each and every time he quickly became a respected member of the clan. His eyes make it clear that he is a native to these lands, but he never offers to tell anything about his past, and when asked all his stories start with when he first came to the lair, as though his life began when he first met them. An even greater mystery is his true appearance, for he is never seen without his mask, the skull and feathers of some great predatory bird and he is always wrapped in strips of dyed brilliant green, though not as bright as the feathers adorning the tip of his tail. Whether these feathers are his or part of yet another monstrous bird is unknown, for he is never seen without them, but they do not seem the sort of mutation typical to the region.

Since moving into the clan he has acquired a mate, a Wildclaw known as Hanna. The two outwardly seem to have little in common, though they clearly love each other dearly in their own strange ways. More interesting is the fact that he makes no attempt to bring her along on his hunting trips and when he does travel with her they always return with far less than when he travels alone, hinting that there is some special technique that he is unwilling to share. It matters little though, for when the pair go out together it isn’t food that they seek, but trinkets. When they return they come with pawfulls of strange bones, bits of weathered glass, strange pieces of ancient machinery and even less identifiable things. Oddly enough none of the other scavengers in the clan ever find the same sorts of things that Haruo does. Just like with food, his special places for treasure hunting can only be found by him. Not even Hana is able to retrace the meandering paths he leads her down in their search for treasure.
