Costume is a progress...
Bon is a curious little nocturne who came out of the egg all alone. His little egg wasn't even in a nest, having been stashed in the roots of a long-dead tree. He tried to copy the various animals and things he saw, and managed to catch a very lazy grasshopper for himself, but things were very confusing. And lonely.
When it got dark, he got cold. He wrapped himself in his little wings and huddled for warmth against the tree. His savior almost missed him, and might have if not for the little puffs of fire he was making to try to stay warm. "Bon" he was dubbed, because he looked like a little bon bon all tucked up around himself. He'd tried to look at his savior, to understand what was going on when he was plucked from his slightly warm ground spot, but he was wrapped close to their body, unable to wiggle enough to see. He'd chirped a few times, but once he realized it was so, so warm, his exhaustion took over. Finally, at last, he was content.
