Biography
Vatrel is the Representative of Plague. His scales were all once a rich earthy brown, but now, veinlike scars run over the now dull dusty brown scales, and his wings have turned blood red. His pronouns are He/Him and he will not hesitate to unleash disease and death upon you if you dont respect his or his clanmate’s pronouns.
Vatrel is one of the very few dragons who was in his current clan at the time of his becoming a representative. He was born in Light, but spent most of his life in Nature. He was always close to Mosscoat, who, while a little bit older, was always a good person, and a good friend to almost all. When she became Nature’s representative, he was right there with her and Euclid, celebrating.
While this backstory is kind and soft, his story of Becoming is not as gentle, nor is it appealing. While he may have had a good life in his clan, there were always clans and groups outside of theirs that wished to do harm to the clan- the representatives especially. No dragon should have such power, after all.
So they took the one simple dragon who seemed closest to the clan leaders, that being Vatrel. He was not able to be found, having seemingly disappeared into thin air.
Nobody knows or remembers what happened next, Vatrel included.
A long time later, who knows how long, a new scent would be found on the clan’s tiny stretch of the Viridian Labyrinth.. familiar, but too strange to be recognized by the Tundra dragons of the clan. Euclid took Typha and Sydel, two faithful guardians of the clan, and went to investigate. The scent was foul, the trail reeking of Plague magic. The hunt was on, because Plague magic within the Labyrinth could be disastrous.
And they found a weak, injured, and half-conscious mirror, and while Typha immediately lunged, territorial as she is, Euclid held her back, placing herself between the two mirrors. While the scent of Plague was strong, Euclid could smell someone familiar through all of it, someone she hadnt seen in a long time.
After lots of healing, Vatrel confessed he really could not remember what had happened to him, or why he bore these new markings and colors. The other Chosen would not judge him for this, though others did, and chose instead to dub Vatrel the Plague Representative, considering his new situation. He accepted this, but announced that he would be keeping his distance from the clan. This saddened many, but all understood. It could be dangerous until he learned to further control his power. He brought himself to the Pox Consulate, a journey and a half from home, but it was an area where very few cared that a dragon that reeked of Plague was residing there.
It was home, after all.
Now, Vatrel still resides in the Consulate, but keeps in close contact with his clan, his family. While he now is more aggressive than he once was, he channels it into finding who did this to him. No matter the cost.
