______ When he first hatched and as he grew up, Glooomshade saw nothing different about himself. He was born in the Shadow Flight in a clan in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. He was surrounded by darkness most of his life, but never struggled with vision. What he did not yet know is that his primal sight allowed him to see in darkness as simply as others see in Light, but at the cost of being blind in light as one is in the darkness. He only discovered this when he first left home and found himself blinded and helpless in the daytime. he was quickly guided back home, where he could see right again once in the darkness.

______ For the longest time he stayed home because of his reversed vision; he came out mostly at night, when his vision is best, but also ventured out during the day. He was highly regarded for his rare primal eyes, but he never understood what made it so special if it blinded him. Others saw him as powerful and special, but nobody knew the odd price it came with. He managed his life growing up, minding himself. It wasn't an easy life, but he made do with what he had. He was also gifted a Gloomwillow Guide as a seeing-eye companion.

______ However, he grew tired of being limited by his primal blindness. He decided to brave the world and stop staying sheltered and ventured out into the big bright world. He was blinded during the day, but could see well enough at night. Along his travels he encountered other dragons with blindness, some magical, some physically inflicted. He learned from them how to manage himself when he is blind, and that being blind doesn't make you weak. He was gradually able to journey from clan to clan both in the day and night alike, and eventually came across a clan in the Shoredeep Presage. it had sunny beaches, but also dark caves; a perfect balance of light and dark. He stayed for a time. After a while of getting to know the other dragons of the clan and telling his story, he was invited to be the Shadow Flight Diplomat. After some thought, he accepted.

______ While working as a diplomat, he also busied himself with other hobbies, from magic tricks to knife throwing (at targets, of course. It's difficult for him to fight due to his vision). He's even developed a slew of personalized items that aid in accessibility when he's lightblinded. For example, his cards have both written numbers and images and bumped text.
