A quartermaster has to be organized and responsible to keep the ship in check. Ildene does her job well because of this and can often be convinced to squeeze in some fun activities throughout a day’s work. As long as it doesn’t affect the performance of the crew of course. Her out-of-the-box thinking is prized by her mate, Isavar, as she can bring new insights into a strategy by simply being herself.
Ildene’s compassion is centered on those who are unable to do something because of limitations. She’s quick to snap at lazy crewmates but equally quick to lend a helping wing to those that actually need it. She loathes those that look down on others because of a biological or artificial weakness and defends their targets with passion.

━━ Biography ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
There isn’t anything special about Ildene’s past. A wind dragon who got bored of life in the Windswept Plateau and thought the seas would offer more adventures. She found herself on a ship and learned the trade of sailing quickly, taking quick jobs on any ship she could. Eventually the act of jumping between ships led Ildene to the Sanctuary of Diversity. Here she took a job with the Wavebreak Merchants, on the Tradewinds Rover. The reason Ildene stayed with the Rover is because of how much action it got for a ship of its class. Most merchant ships avoided and ran from pirates. The Rover on the other hand charged straight for any pirate that it spotted. On Ildene’s first trip with the Rover the captain ordered them to aid another merchant being looted by pirates. The Tradewinds Rover is the bane of pirates and master of trade, the perfect amount of excitement for Ildene.

Staying on one ship for an extended period of time came with benefits. For once Ildene was able to work her way up the ship’s ranks. From sailor to sailingmaster, sailingmaster to bosun, bosun to quartermaster, Ildene found joy as a permanent member of a crew. As she went up the ranks Ildene became friends with Captain Isavar. She admired his will to get things done and keep his ship in prime condition. Overall she admired how his relationship to former pirates didn’t hold him back on the seas. Their own relationship grew stronger the more they worked together and at some point they became mates. Now Ildene serves as the Tradewinds Rover’s quartermaster and a proud member of the Stormgrip family.
