Autumn

"So your papers say you are a...um...God?" the aqua tundra shifted his feet and shuffled through the application parchments along with his azure fae compatriot.
"A demi-God," the imperial corrected with a gesture of her claw.
"Of what, if you don't mind me asking?" the tundra asked without looking up, but with a tilt of his head. His fae friend gave him a scolding look, but said nothing.
"My reign primarily regards the changing of seasons and the prolonged yet glorious death of all we hold dear," the imperial replied matter-of-factly. "Before, you know, rising up again in a never-ending cycle."
"Hence the name." the tundra glanced up.
"Yes, hence the name."
"So, if that's the case," the tundra said slowly, as if searching for the words hidden among his papers, "what are you doing here?"
The imperial sighed, displeased. "The Gods feared my powers. I suppose I was too much of a handful for them, so they banished me here to live among you mortals," she emphasized with particular distaste.
"No, I mean like...why our clan? Why the Storytelling?"
The imperial shrugged. "It's easy to get in, I suppose."
The tundra appeared to prepare to say something, before the fae evidently cut him off. "If any of what you're saying is true, what proof do you have for it?"
"Would you care to find out, my dear?" The titanic imperial's eyes glowed a painful fuscia and she bared far too many teeth than anyone in the room would care to acknowledge.
"No, no thank you miss Autumn!" the tundra quickly cut in front of the bristling fae and smiled diplomatically.
"Clever man," the imperial smiled and seemed to relax.
