The oldest tales of Kjalla city speak of a mysterious wraith that seems to haunt the ancient gardens surrounding the Bougainvillea Palace. Perhaps these stories refer to the enigmatic Halley; a dragon who distances herself from the politics and society of Kjallabai. Instead, she quietly guards and tends to the gardens, as she has done for countless ages before.

Halley is something of a puzzle for both the locals and newcomers to Kjalla; she seems not to age and uses magic of an unknown nature to blend into her surroundings, barely ever being seen by the inhabitants of the palace. However, those who catch her interest may frequently spy glimpses of a spectral, glassy figure weaving through the fountains and lush plant-life of the gardens.

Queen Nadine's words echoes around the overgrown courtyard, and for a moment, as if she truly were alone, nothing stirred.

A soft, teasing laugh broke the silence. In the patches of light between the shadows of foliage, the Queen saw the sun dance on glassy, indistinct shapes.

"My lady, are you truly so arrogant as to think that it is by your ability and not mine own that I appear only before you?"
